Hi Michael,

When you say Control Panel recognised the camera, does it appear under 'Scanners & Cameras' in there (you might have to move to Classic View from the left hand pane of options)? If it's listed, double-click on it and try the 'Test Camera' button.

If it's listed in there and that test works, then it's probably installed fine. If the 'Test Camera' doesn't succeed, make absolutely sure you didn't accidentally get the XP version of the WIA driver.

What applications are you trying to use with your camera? On my PC, Adobe Lightroom recognises the camera, as does Photoshop CS3 (I'm assuming CS2 would too, the option is under File > Import > WIA Support) and Google Picasa.

If you're using one of the Canon apps, make sure you've installed the relevant update from the same Canon area as the WIA driver, there's an update for all of them.

I installed the WIA driver on my new lenovo vista laptop, and now control panel recognised the camera - but I cannot use it in any apps and nothing pops up when I connect. I hear the USB bing but that is all.

Ideas?
